Tackling Unconscious Bias

Why this workshop?

Bias, by its very nature, is unconscious. We’re all guilty of it and most of us are completely unware of it and the extent to which it affects our interactions with others and the way we make decisions. Unconscious biases may causes us to make assumptions based on ethnicity, age, gender, and any other aspects of one’s appearance and act accordingly. Sometimes this can be a positive, but oftentimes this has a negative impact and may even lead to conflict. Understanding what bias is, how it impacts our decisions and bringing it to the surface in a way that allows us to become independent of it is key to fostering more inclusive and intercultural workplaces, practices and leadership. Such awareness lays the groundwork for fostering a truly inclusive workplace—that not only produces innovation, but results in happier and healthier teams.
