Employee Conflict Resolution Support

While not mediation in the technical and legal sense of word, what I offer as part of this service is a facilitated dialogue between employees or teams who are experiencing a conflict.

Typically, an employee conflict resolution support program would include:

  • Individual conversations with the involved parties, designed to assess each person’s willingness to engage in a conflict transformation process, their understanding of the situation, their grievances and their needs, and to prepare the individuals for a dialogue process, helping them identify their desired outcomes. Getting people ready to engage in a conflict transformation process may occasionally also require some skill building, such as working on communication and active listening skills, grounding techniques and emotions management.

  • Joint dialogue sessions bring conflict parties together, with a first session designed to (re) build rapport, trust, and relational ease. As parties clarify and understand each other’s views, we transition together towards a creative problem-solving and resolution stage, where the parties agree on a way forward.

  • Follow-up support is sometimes needed to ensure the sustainability of the process. Conflict parties may feel like they need occasional check-in in and support as they navigate the newly re-established relationship, to make sure they don’t fall back into the same destructive conflict patterns.

As part of this process, a comprehensive one-on-one conflict management coaching program can be also considered.
